After decades of traveling around the world playing concerts and hunting, Uncle Ted knows the best things in life are at home with family, friends and the blessings we’re granted each day.
I think I wrote my 1st “Happy Thanksgiving Day EveryDay” article more than 25 years ago in my self-published World Bowhunters magazine. In the ensuing years, I do believe I’ve used a variation of that title in more than 20 sporting publications, numerous conservative websites, various blogs and a few newspapers. I wrote it and I meant it.
As deerhunters living right smack dab in the epicenter of the very act of giving thanks with our hands-on, stealthy reasoning predator lifestyle, I am convinced that, according to every die hard hunter I know, (I don’t know any casual hunters) we are virtually incapable of not being extremely thankful for the spectacular bounty of God’s creation within which we function so diligently. When you kill ‘em and grill ‘em up close and personal, denial is not an option.
We are constantly in awe of the wildlife and wildground that determines not only our individual quality of life as outdoor sporters, but quality of life for all living things. For without the real world gargantuan value of hunting, fishing and trapping and assorted related activities, and the habitat we monitor, manage, finance, protect, renew and safeguard, there would be no quality air, water and soil, therefor, no quality diddly-squat.
Ya got that?

So I say to all my deeranddeerhunting.com BloodBrothers and all the landowners, ranchers and farmers that support and revere our flourishing wildlife, no matter where you are from, what, where or how you hunt, to all of you and yours, I wish you a full on loud and proud, Double Live Gonzo, hearty, all American venison and SpiritWild infested Happy Happy Thanksgiving on this Thanksgiving Day 2014, and everyday forevermore.
We can start by thanking the Good Lord that we were born in America where we the people own the wildlife, not the king, not the emperor.

We can also thank God for His miraculous creation, where all these incredible big game animals are not only flourishing way down the road in time here, but most importantly, that all His amazing animals are just the right size and construction to take a good arrow or bullet for a quick, clean kill.
Show sincere thanks for our fellow hunters and butchers across the land who generously donate the precious gift of natural, organic, healthy, nutritious, delicious venison for the various Hunters For The Hungry, Sportsmen Against Hunger, Hunters and Farmers Feeding the Hungry, Help Us Stop Hunger and other such charity programs that share the near limitless bounty of precious renewable protein from God’s annual bounty of harvest.
We must also give extreme thanks to all the heroes of the U.S. Military and their families who have sacrificed so dearly for this phenomenal experiment in self-government and all the uniquely American freedoms and liberties that go with it. Godbless you all.
We must thank our Founding Fathers for their astonishing courage and brilliant vision to defy the punk king in England and kickstart a brave new world where “we the people” determine our own destiny, driven by self-evident truth, goodwill, decency, the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule, God-given individual rights and individual freedoms, and that they were actually smart enough to write it all down just in case some punk in the future dared try to take it all away.
Never forget to give ultra-thanks for the great visionaries of conservation such as Aldo Leopold, Teddy Roosevelt, John Muir, James Audubon, Fred Bear, Roy Case, Russ Bengal, and so many others that envisioned and inspired the globally respected and successful American wildlife management model.
That alone deserves a huge Hallelujah!!
Ted salutes all the Backstrap BloodBrothers out in the field and wishes great blessings upon you every day!
Always give thanks for health, family, friends, the hunting lifestyle and so much more that brings us an unlimited quality of life based on individual choices and dreams in the great outdoors and beyond.
As the wonderful hunting season 2014-15 rages on, never forget that it is all about giving thanks. Happy Thanksgiving everyday BloodBrothers. Keep the sacred venison and thanks a-flowin’!
